Looking at the BBC podcasts site was one way to explore the world. I discovered some podcasts are only available in England, so I needed to select the Worldwide option. My preference is Documentaries and I chose to review the full two years records.
The tie is a symbol of power, sexuality, belonging and musical style. Within the corporate workforce red is the dominant colour. A tie points to male genitals and the Paisley pattern looks like sperm. School colours and patterns indicate belonging. East coast America in 1957 favoured the narrow tie to represent their cool music.

RSS Feeds
RSS Feeds Are Both Wonderful And Annoying
I like the automatic updates which are provided via the RSS Feed. The confusing and annoying part was searching for specific topics. The screen wouldn't allow me to backtrack to the results found. I had to retype my search each time. Have I missed a breadcrumbs path somewhere?
So far I have't found any useful feeds for my assignment although I found interesting ones on finance.
I might be able to use this technology in my personal life if I can shift through the waffle.
Libraries might use RSS to assist customers research enquiries.

This video shows how to use watercolour paints to illustrate a camellia. It runs for 1.28 minutes. The final picture looks very much like the real thing.

Discovery Exercise: Information Literacy
Discovery Exercise: Information Literacy
I watched the YouTube video on Information Literacy, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JWzigkpR7yg and the following is my summary of the important points.Data smog is where too much information just blinds us and is of no help to anyone. Being information literate gives us the skills to cope with data smog. (1)
Information literacy ia the ability to articulate a problem to be investigated, locate and assemble information, scrutinize gathered resources, process and apply information towards a solution and contemplate the effectiveness of the entire process.
The DISCOVER method of Information Literacy requires a person to
- DEFINE what you are looking for
- INQUIRE into a variety of resources, online and traditional format
- SEARCH using different search engines
- COLLECT websites for future consideration
- ORGANISE the information based on its relevance
- VERIFY the authors and information accuracy and reliability
- EXPRESS your findings
- REFLECT on results, up to date, broaden or narrow search (2)
